Type Locality and Naming

It is a marker in the section of the group. This is the lowest/third formation in the Alichur Gr.

Synonym: Marganayskaya Suite, Марджанайская свита

Lithology and Thickness

It is composed of marble para-gneisses clearly visible from a distance and marble-fossilized limestones, with subordinate layers of biotite, amphibole-biotite, and less often garnet-biotite schists. The thickness of the suite is 150-800 m. Usually light, with a yellowish hue, crushed marbles acquire a brown and dark gray color; they are intricately folded and contain lenses of schists and migmatites.
